Career Training

In addition to academic training, Arecibo Job Corps provides career technical training in the following vocational trades:

  • Electrician
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Office Administration
  • Retail Sales

Work-Based Learning

Through the Work-Based Learning program, students increase their career technical skills at actual worksites with employment partners of Arecibo Job Corps.

Many of our graduates are hired by the same employers they worked with during their time in the Work-Based Learning program.

Off Center Training Program

The Off Center Training (OCT) program is a university/college program offered as a privilege for Job Corps students attending an off-center institution.

Students interested in the OCT program are required to:

  • Complete an OCT program application form.
  • Submit application for and gain approval of a Federal Pell Grant.
  • Must have a high school diploma (submit evidence such as transcripts and/or diploma).
  • Maintain "student in good standing" status throughout their enrollment in the OCT program.
  • Meet all requirements established by the participating institution.

Students in the OCT program will have the opportunity to continue to participate in center activities. They will also benefit from other program services such as food, book purchases through the institution, and study materials (notebooks, pencils, etc.).
